Motion Design:
2005–Present
As a young kid growing up in the 90’s I was a lover of cinema. From the start I was inspired by the action-packed thrillers on the silver screen and the animated shows I’d get up early to sneak in before school. As I grew my tastes matured through indy art films and afternoon Toonami sessions, and by the time I was an adolescent I had a real desire to start creating my own videos. In those days this was a much more difficult task than it is now, so you can imagine my joy when I finally unwrapped my high school graduation present — a Sony handycam. Since then I’ve explored all sorts of moving images; from digital narratives to animation, motion graphics and marketing pieces. Whether it’s for a client or for myself, creating imagery through the temporal elements of motion has always been intriguing and rewarding. My experiences have allowed me to explore this through a wide range of applications, and I’ve found that in the end they’re often much more engaging than any still image can be on its own.
