Photography:
2000–Present
By now we’re all aware of the intoxicating nature of still images; they can challenge us, placate us, or seduce us, but no matter what emotion they elicit, they always tell a story. As it relates to design, photography is a lynchpin that is foundational to almost all visual systems these days. With personal computers in everyone’s pocket, it’s more important than ever to lean into storytelling through images. The fundamental principles of design are all present in photography — composition, color, movement, subject — and even in a world where Ai technology is generating novel images constantly, the ability to capture what we see in the world around us remains integral to to the human experience. I’ve loved snapping pictures since I could first hold a camera, so I feel very fortunate that I’ve been able to incorporate so much photography into my career.
